BGA Rework Station WDS-S7 integrated BGA Repair System The WISDOMSHOW WDS-S7 is a professional and modern solution for removal and installation of BGA, uBGA, CBGA, CCGA, CSP, QFN, MLF, and PGA components. It is designed for service centers working with consumer electronics, medical devices, telecommunications, military equipment, and automotive electronics.

The device is designed for repairing:

  • computer motherboards
  • graphics cards
  • laptops and game consoles
  • mobile phones
  • automotive ECU modules and controllers

Manufactured using both leaded and lead-free solder technologies.

The station is particularly recommended for working with large PCB boards.
High heating power and an efficient cooling system ensure effective operation and minimize the time that high temperature affects the PCB.

Key Features of the WDS-S7 Station

  • High total heating power: 4700 W
  • Large PCB working area: 495 × 350 mm
  • Large IR bottom heater area: 360 × 270 mm
  • 3 heating zones: top IR + 2 × hot air
  • Ability to switch off the left and right sections of the IR bottom heater
  • Vertical adjustment of the lower hot air heater
  • 7" touch control panel with microprocessor control
  • Reinforced mount for the upper hot air heater
  • Cross-flow fan that automatically cools the PCB after soldering
  • Magnetic quick-change hot air nozzles
  • Two adjustable cross supports for PCB boards
  • 10 PCB support points
  • External USB port for programming the station controller

HMI MCGS Touch Controller

The station allows programming up to 20,000 heating profiles, monitoring them in real time, and modifying parameters at any moment (even during heating).

For better control of the final result, each profile can be programmed in 8 temperature blocks.

After the heating process is complete, the entire soldering profile and process curve can be analyzed on the display.

All parameters such as:

  • target temperature
  • heating time
  • temperature ramp rate
  • cooling time
  • vacuum pickup operation time

can be set independently using the 7" HD MCGS LCD Human-Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen.

The display shows all station operating parameters in real time, including graphical visualization of the heating process and charts showing target and actual temperatures.

Soldering Process Analysis

The controller screen shows the following temperatures numerically and graphically:

  • upper heater temperature (HR)
  • lower heater temperature (HR)
  • IR bottom heater temperature
  • actual temperature near the BGA component

The station software includes a KEEP profile function.

When activated, the station maintains the current temperatures until the KEEP button is pressed again.

This is a practical feature that:

  • helps create new profiles
  • reduces the need to expose the PCB laminate to high temperatures again.

The station also has an emergency STOP button, which immediately interrupts the heating process.

Three Independent Heating Zones

To ensure optimal soldering results, the station uses three independent heating zones:

  • Top heating zone
  • Bottom heating zone
  • PCB preheater

The top and bottom zones use hot air, while the third bottom zone is a quartz IR heater (dark infrared).

The top and bottom heaters can be controlled using multiple groups and temperature parameter sections.

  • The upper heater can be adjusted in all directions.
  • The lower hot air heater has vertical adjustment, which is important when working with large console chips.

The IR preheater heats the PCB across a large area, reducing stress and lowering the temperature required for proper soldering or desoldering.

IR Preheater Section Switch

The IR preheater heating sections can be individually switched off using two switches, for example when heating a smaller PCB.

This feature:

  • improves efficiency when working with small PCBs
  • reduces power consumption.

Vacuum Pickup Tool

The station is equipped with an electronic vacuum pickup tool, also controlled from the LCD touchscreen interface.

Automatic Cross-Flow Cooling Fan

On the left side of the station, there is a powerful cross-flow fan that automatically cools the PCB after soldering or desoldering.

This prevents PCB deformation and protects the BGA reballing result.

The lower hot air nozzle also includes an adjustment screw supporting the PCB laminate directly under the BGA component.

Universal PCB Holder

The main PCB holder features a V-groove design, providing quick and stable mounting of boards with a wide adjustment range.

The set also includes:

  • 6 holders for non-standard PCB boards + 6 mounting screws
  • 2 additional cross supports for larger PCBs with 4 adjustable height supports

To direct hot air and protect nearby components, magnetic nozzles are installed in both the upper and lower heating areas.

These nozzles:

  • can be installed easily with one hand
  • can be rotated and adjusted at any angle.

The largest top nozzle includes special holes that release excess hot air.

Precision Type-K Temperature Sensors

To ensure accurate temperature measurement, the station uses precision Type-K thermocouples with an accuracy of ±3°C, operating in a closed-loop control system.

After each soldering or desoldering process, the station generates an alarm notification.

If excessively high or uncontrolled temperatures occur, the built-in over-temperature protection system stops the process and disconnects the appropriate electrical circuit.
